Job Description

A leading manufacturer rooted in Africa, driven by a mission to protect life and strengthen healthcare systems, is looking for a Reporting and Tax Lead to join their team. Why join this team? Join a passionate, goal‑oriented finance team contributing to work that protects and enhances lives Opportunity to lead critical financial reporting and tax functions across multiple entities Work in a dynamic, high‑impact environment with exposure to audits, funder reporting, and compliance management What you will be doing: Financial Reporting Prepare annual individual and consolidated financial statements aligned with IFRS Manage audit requirements and ensure compliance with updated IFRS disclosures Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules Compile monthly reporting decks and review management accounts and reconciliations Prepare financial reports and presentations for board and committee meetings Ensure compliance across VAT, PAYE, insurance, and regulatory submissions Coach team members on management accounts and statutory reporting Assist with balance sheet forecasting and budgeting cycles Maintain a departmental reporting calendar Tax Compliance Prepare provisional and final tax returns, including supporting schedules Maintain monthly tax schedules and respond to SARS verification requests Review VAT201 and EMP201 submissions Liaise with tax consultants and assist with tax memos Manage wear‑and‑tear registers and SAP implementation related to tax Support funder tax documentation requirements Review tax‑related balance sheet reconciliations Track tax compliance status Additional Responsibilities Support the financial accounting team as required Prepare documents for insurance renewals Assist with external, internal, and funder audits Participate in SAP improvement projects and lead finance‑related enhancements Ensure correct project accounting and capitalisation of expenses Monitor and report on funding covenants and attend to all funder reporting needs What we are looking for: CA(SA) or equivalent qualification 3 years’ experience in a similar role Experience preparing individual and consolidated financial statements Strong tax experience including wear & tear, deferred tax, and incentives Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, SAP, and Microsoft Office Experience compiling tax returns and managing statutory compliance Benefits and unique aspects: Opportunity to work in a purpose‑driven organisation with social impact Exposure to a wide scope of reporting, governance, and compliance functions Involvement in major projects, including SAP improvements and new‑build initiatives Career development through mentoring and technical leadership opportunities Please note if you haven’t heard back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, unfortunately your application has not been successful this time.
