About the Role

You Choose Recruit is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Controller to take full ownership of the accounts function at our office-based location in La Lucia Ridge, Umhlanga. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented finance professional with confidence across debtors, creditors, cashbook, VAT, and general ledger.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
Monitor debtor balances, follow up on overdue accounts, and prepare age analysis
Reconcile supplier statements and manage payment runs in line with approvals and cash flow
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and cashbook reconciliations
Process and reconcile VAT, including monthly VAT reports and control accounts
Post and reconcile general ledger entries, accruals, and adjustments
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Maintain accurate audit trails and support internal and external audits
Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to resolve queries
Identify and support improvements to finance processes and controls

Requirements

BCom Accounting, BCompt, BAcc, or equivalent finance qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior accounts / accounts controller role
Strong practical experience across debtors, creditors, VAT, cashbook, and GL
Proven reconciliation expertise and high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
