Job Summary

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB Instructional Design & Training Delivery Ability to design, develop, and deliver effective training programs for library staff, faculty, and students. Proficiency in e-learning tools and experience with pedagogical best practices Information & Digital Literacy Instruction Expertise in teaching research skills, citation management (e.g. EndNote), and database navigation. Ability to develop workshops on AI literacy, data literacy, and critical evaluation of sources. Technology Integration & Digital Fluency Familiarity with emerging library technologies (e.g., institutional repositories, discovery tools, research analytics). Leadership & Staff Development Skills in needs assessment to identify training gaps among library staff. Ability to mentor junior librarians and foster a culture of continuous learning. Communication & Collaboration Strong presentation and facilitation skills for diverse audiences (students, faculty, researchers). Ability to collaborate with academic departments to embed information literacy into curricula. Assessment & Evaluation Competence in measuring training effectiveness (e.g., surveys, learning analytics). Experience using feedback to improve programs and demonstrate ROI. Change Management & Advocacy Ability to promote the value of training initiatives to stakeholders. Experience adapting training strategies to new trends (e.g., AI tools, open educational resources). KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Effective coordination and implementation of training programmes. Development of high-quality instructional materials and learning resources. Positive feedback from students and faculty on training effectiveness. Strategic Planning and Policy Development Successful integration of information literacy into academic curricula. Efficient supervision and professional development of Training Team staff. Technology Integration & Innovation Well-documented reports and training statistics for quality assurance.
