About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and professional Service Supervisor to join a luxury lodge in the Kruger National Park. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a strong guest service focus, leadership skills, and operational knowledge of food and beverage service in a high-end environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure consistency in services and products offered to guests
- Monitor staff and patron activities to ensure compliance with liquor regulations
- Perform and supervise beverage preparation and service tasks, including presentation, sales, and training
- Assist in developing and implementing specialty drinks for welcome, morning, and evening services
- Promote optimal communication between the kitchen and service teams, including daily briefings and pass management
- Investigate and resolve guest complaints professionally
- Manage stock control, inventory, and equipment maintenance for service areas
- Estimate consumption, schedule orders, and verify delivery contents for quality and quantity
- Maintain par levels for crockery, cutlery, glassware, and beverage/service equipment
- Review beverage menus, analyze recipes, and assign prices to menu items
- Ensure effective POS operation, monitoring reports to identify popular and profitable items
- Coordinate equipment repairs and services such as refrigeration and ice machines
Requirements & Skills
- Strong knowledge of luxury F&B customer service standards
- Comprehensive understanding of local, regional, and international wines and beverages
- Knowledge of food preparation, product quality, and cooking methods
- Understanding of stock procedures, inventory control, and departmental administration
- Familiarity with hygiene standards, cleaning products, and equipment operation
- Ability to plan, budget, and manage departmental tasks efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional control, and team leadership abilities
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work accurately under pressure
- Commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
