Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 1 – 10 years of experience in shipbuilding design, with expertise in one or more disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, piping).
- Languages: Fluent in Afrikaans.
- Ideal age range for candidates: 23–32 years.

- Skills:
- Proficiency in shipbuilding design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Rhino, NAPA, or other industry-specific tools).
- Solid understanding of shipbuilding materials, construction techniques, and maritime regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Personal Skills: Excellent teamwork and communication abilities, proactive problem-solving, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Design and develop structural, mechanical, electrical, or piping systems for shipbuilding projects.
- Ensure that designs comply with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including naval architects, structural engineers, and project managers.
- Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the integrity and performance of ship structures and systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, and reports as per project requirements.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase and resolve any design-related issues.
