Salary: R20 000 – R30 000 per month based on 173.333 hours per month

Minimum Qualifying Criteria:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Legal Secretary in a reputable law firm (commercial litigation essential)
• Extensive dictation typing experience in a legal environment
• Languages: English, with impeccable grammar, proofreading and document formatting skills
• Exceptional speed and accuracy in dictation typing.
• A proven track record of stability and long-term commitment, this role requires someone seeking to grow with the firm over the next 10–15 years.
• Experience working with advocates and understanding similar workflows would be ideal
• Energetic team-player with resilience, professionalism, initiative and a good sense of humour
• German language skills would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe and format audio dictations quickly and accurately – this is essential to the role (minimum 60–70 wpm typing speed required, though higher speeds are strongly preferred).
• Prepare, edit, and manage legal documents and case files for High Court commercial litigation
• Provide full PA support to the partner, including diary and travel management
• Handle client liaison and correspondence with professionalism and discretion
• Prioritise tasks in a high-pressure environment with exceptional organisation skills
• Work collaboratively with counsel, clients, and key stakeholders
