About the Role

RedCat Recruitment is seeking a trade tested and experienced Fitter to join a large concern in Middelburg, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mechanical maintenance services, coordinating staff workloads, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, implement and maintain mechanical equipment
Install, service and repair engineering machinery and equipment
Possibly work on mechanical or electrical systems
Coordinate staff workload
Act as a supportive function to the Boilermaker/Welder and Plant Manager
Maintain and implement quality and safety standards
General maintenance administration

Requirements

Trade tested Fitter
Valid driver’s license/own reliable vehicle
Computer literate (MS Office, Email/Internet)
3 years previous working experience in a similar position
Competent understanding of safety rules in the manufacturing industry
Welding experience
Experience on motors and gearboxes
Experience with conveyor maintenance
Experience with elevators
