Stanger, KZN | Permanent An established automotive manufacturing operation is looking for a commercially minded Project Accountant to take ownership of the financial management of key manufacturing and engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who enjoys working close to operations and influencing project performance through strong financial insight. You will work alongside engineering, manufacturing, and project teams, ensuring projects are financially controlled, accurately costed, and commercially viable. Key Responsibilities -Project Financial Management -Manage project budgets, forecasts and financial plans -Monitor project financial performance and profitability -Cost & Variance Analysis -Analyse manufacturing and project costs -Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks -Financial Reporting -Prepare and present project financial reports and key performance indicators to management -Budgeting & Forecasting -Develop accurate financial forecasts linked to project timelines and operational plans -AIS / APDP Incentives -Prepare and manage AIS and APDP submissions and claims -Liaise with suppliers and relevant government departments to ensure successful claim completion -Compliance & Audit -Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards and internal controls -Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits -Cross-Functional Collaboration -Work closely with project managers, engineers and operational teams to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting -Process Improvement -Identify opportunities to strengthen financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency Minimum Requirements -Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field -Minimum 5 years’ finance experience within a manufacturing environment -Automotive industry exposure highly advantageous -CA(SA) or CIMA advantageous -Strong understanding of project costing, financial controls and manufacturing finance Personal Profile You are likely someone who: -Enjoys working beyond the numbers and partnering with operations -Is highly analytical and detail focused -Communicates financial insights confidently to non-financial stakeholders -Works well under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment -Is self-driven, professional and able to manage confidential financial information What This Role Offers -Direct exposure to manufacturing and engineering projects -Opportunity to influence cost control and project profitability -A role that combines technical accounting with commercial decision support Permanent role based in Stanger.
