Our Belgian client, a rapidly growing provider of pallet racking and shelving systems as well as robotics-driven warehouse automation and storage solutions, is looking to appoint a CAD Designer to work remotely from their Stellenbosch office.

The CAD Designer / Draughtsman improves the efficiency and quality of draft work through training and development of CAD tools and drafting standards, in accordance with the group QHSE standards. Produces drawings in an efficient and qualitative manner to demonstrate the technical feasibility of a project or to support the design within the proposed time frame. Also Supporting sales with conceptual layouts is part of the job.

What do we expect from you?

CAD & Engineering support

• Analyse drawings, sketches, and technical input from internal stakeholders
• Detect missing information, inconsistencies, or technical risks
• Produce project and equipment drawings using CAD software, in line with internal standards
• Convert construction drawings into proper project drawings
• Perform on-site measurements and update drawings accordingly
• Collaborate closely with engineering colleagues

QHSE & compliance

• Work in full compliance with stow QHSE standards and local legislation
• Apply Lean principles and support continuous improvement
• Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all tasks

Process & administration

• Ensure correct storage and documentation of drawings
• Follow engineering approval workflows
• Register working hours accurately

Training & development

• Share technical knowledge within the engineering team
• Participate in training and CAD tool development
• Continuously improve technical skills

Experience, Qualifications & Skills

• You have a technical Bachelors’ degree or equal by experience
• 3+ years of experience as a CAD Designer / Drafstman in an industrial environment
• Technical background in industrial design, mechanics or equivalent
• Good command of CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
• Structured, detail-oriented and quality-driven mindset
• Team player with a strong sense of internal service
