Job Description
Our client is a rapidly growing European business in the mobility and public-space infrastructure sector, delivering made-to-measure construction solutions such as bicycle parking systems, shelters, and related modular products. The business is scaling internationally through a carefully selected distributor network across Europe and beyond, and is recruiting an International Channel Manager (South Africa-based).
What makes this role different:
This is not a classic Sales Manager role. The focus is on activating and enabling distributorsprofessionalising the network, improving partner performance, and ensuring technical and commercial excellence across the channel. You will report directly to the CEO.
Key responsibilities
- Drive channel strategy & governance: distributor business plans, targets, KPI tracking and structured annual reviews
- Activate and support distributors: commercial guidance, complex quotations, training, forecasting accuracy, scalable configurations, cross-selling
- Provide technical credibility: interpret 2D/basic 3D drawings, assess feasibility/installation complexity, filter requests and prevent engineering overload
- Lead configuration support (BRO system): improve submission quality, detect errors early, raise technical capability across the network
- Maintain financial & commercial discipline: protect price positioning, manage product mix/margins, use KPI dashboards, CRM discipline
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in channel management and/or technical B2B sales within industrial / construction-related products
- Proven experience working with distributor networks and performance management
- Technical qualification (Engineering/Construction/Industrial Design/QS) or equivalent technical-industrial experience (technical credibility is essential)
- Afrikaans (strong working proficiency) and fluent English; additional European language advantageous
Travel & practical
- 23 international trips per year to distributors and European HQ
- Valid passport required
