Stellenbosch: Junior Barman – Hoseki Restaurant posted by Delaire (Pty) Ltd

We are looking for an enthusiastic Barman at our Japanese Restaurant, Hoseki, at Delaire Graff Lodges & Spa, to provide an excellent guest drinking experience, who will be able to create classic and innovative drinks exceeding customers needs and expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons;
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks and snacks;
• Assess customers needs and preferences and make recommendations;
• Mix and prepare ingredients for cocktails.
• Plan and present bar menu;
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies;
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience;
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations & ensure minimum losses;
• Maintain standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all bar areas;
• Check drinks presentations and temperature to make sure of its quality;
• Ensure everything in the bar is set-up and ready for service, including the coffee stations and all machines;
• Assist management in taking bar stock.

Main Requirements:

• Preferably 2+ years previous experience as a Barman;
• Ability to travel to and from the property for late shifts as required;
• Passionate about the hospitality industry;
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, written and verbal (in person and telephonic);
• Strong customer service orientation with excellent people skills;
• Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with all departments and across cultures and religions;
• Comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele;
• Honesty, flexibility, accountability and friendliness;
• Professional manner and attitude;
• Punctual & self-disciplined;
• Extreme attention to detail;
• Basic computer and administration skills.
