Job Summary

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to oversee and continuously improve our Health & Safety systems within a processing/production-based environment. This role requires a professional who is SAIOSH registered (SACPCMP registration advantageous) and has strong experience maintaining and enhancing an ISO 45001 certified document management system not just project-based health and safety work.
The successful candidate will ensure our workplace remains compliant with all legislation and best practices, while actively fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and continuously improve our ISO 45001 Health & Safety document management system.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and standards.

  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and internal audits.

  • Coordinate and facilitate safety training for staff at all levels.

  • Manage PPE requirements and ensure correct usage across the facility.

  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance to senior management.

  • Develop and update H&S policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

  • Drive a proactive safety culture throughout the organisation.

  • Liaise with external auditors, inspectors, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • SAIOSH registration (essential).

  • Proven experience in a processing or production-based environment (non-negotiable).

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO 45001 systems.

  • Excellent understanding of South African occupational health and safety legislation.

  • Strong document control, organisational, and auditing skills.

  • SACPCMP registration (advantageous but not essential).

  • Proficiency in MS Office and health & safety management systems.
