About the Role
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician at Thabazimbi, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of equipment and systems essential for the packing plant production processes. Your primary objective will be to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and calibrate instrumentation equipment, including sensors, transmitters, valves, and gauges.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures and Schedules and provide training.
- Diagnose faults or issues in instrumentation and control systems using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Configure, program, and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Ensure proper installation of control systems, wiring, and components according to technical specifications and schematics.
- Train operators and other team members on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation/Automation, Electrical Engineering
- Electrical / Instrumentation knowledge
- Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Minimum 10 years’ experience within manufacturing
