Job Description
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager to join our team at Vaalwater, responsible for overseeing drone crop spraying, livestock management, and general farm operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and be able to take ownership of new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise planting process and spraying
- Ensure harvesting is done in person with JD Harvester
- Gradually get involved in cattle farming
- Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks
- Monitor and report on crop health and livestock well-being
- Perform any other duties as required
Requirements
- Agricultural Diploma/Degree
- Remote Pilots Licence
- Minimum 3 years of farming experience
- Previous experience with drone crop spraying
- Experience with cropping maize, soya & sugar beans
- Experience with cattle farming
- Computer literate
- Ability to work independently and proactively
Qualifications
- Formal education in agriculture (if applicable)
