Job Description
Betko Fresh Produce, established in 1988, is a family-operated business specialising in the export of premium apples and pears to over 40 countries. Rooted in Villiersdorp, South Africa, Betko has grown from a local fruit trader into a respected international supplier. The company currently has a vacancy for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to take responsibility for managing the payroll function for wage staff at Betko.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll administration (e.g. employee onboarding and -termination, wage processing, attendance records, overtime, etc.)
- Leave management and coordination
- Handle employee queries regarding payslips, leave balances, bank related documentation, etc.
- Weekly and monthly payroll reports
- Receive and process daily pack out data and compile weekly reports regarding production per pack line
Requirements:
- 5 years of experience working with payroll systems
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures, labour laws, and statutory deadlines
- Knowledge of leave procedures
- Good understanding of UIF processes and other deductibles
- Above average computer literacy (at least 5 years of experience and solid understanding of Farm Cost Solutions system, Crest software is preferrable)
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Knowledge of employee onboarding and termination procedures, including disciplinary dismissals (e.g. UI19 forms, etc.)
- Familiarity with Provident Fund processes and related documentation and submissions
- Strong mathematics and accounting skills
- Understanding of the production process and ability to compile relevant reports
- Good interpersonal skills (for queries etc.)
- Excellent planning and reporting abilities
