Job Summary
Requirements:
- Must have FGASA NQF4 Trails Guide
- Professional Field Guide and FGASA Mentor (Advantage)
- Rifle Proficiency and ARH
- First Aid Level 2
- Driver’s License and PrDP
- Previous experience as an Assistant Head Guide.
- Sound knowledge on the applicable / relevant property and company procedures for the department, according to the standards of FGASA and the lodge’s Guiding culture.
- Excellent attention to detail, excellent hygiene principles.
- Guest focus philosophy
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), practicing honest communication
- Team player with positive attitude, enthusiasm, and emotional control
- Excellent time management and self-discipline, interpersonal & problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, use initiative and creative flair when required
- Committed and loyal, adaptable, and flexible
- Must work accurately under pressure
- Leadership skills with passion for development and skills transfer
Duties:
- Assist the head guide in overseeing the training and monitoring of all Field Guide functions according to the FGASA standards
- Ensure full responsibility in the absence of the Head Guide to take over all the responsibilities; all workshop and vehicle maintenance, Chair and record all meetings, Assist in social media platforms, Incident management in the event of emergency or evacuation, Training, development and mentorship of new/ young guides, Conservation on the reserve, General service & guest care.
