About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Management Couple to join our 5-star exclusive Game Lodge in the Welgevonden Big 5 Game Reserve as we expand from 10 beds to 20 beds. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and experienced couple who can support this project over the next few years while continuing to manage the lodge’s daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the daily activities of a small establishment, including Guiding, Food and Beverage, Hosting, Admin, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.
- Support the expansion of the lodge from 10 beds to 20 beds.
- Engage with international guests and provide exceptional customer service.
- Collaborate with the existing team to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
- Both partners should ideally have 5 years of experience working in a Luxury 5 Star Game Lodge.
- Individual candidates must be between the ages of 25 and 35 and have a passion for the hospitality industry and nature guiding.
- He: Must be qualified as a Nature Guide and have current Trails Guide Qualifications.
- She: Must have experience in general lodge administration.
Qualifications
- No formal education/certifications are required, but qualifications as a chef or additional experience in maintenance and construction would be advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly gross remuneration of approximately R15,000 per person, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
- Food allowance: R1 500 per person per month (offered over and above the salary).
- Accommodation: A furnished manager’s house with a loft, lounge, and bedroom with an ensuite bathroom.
- Wi-Fi and DSTV streaming are included.
- Gratuities will be received mostly directly to guides or shared in the tips pool for the day.
