About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Management Couple to join our 5-star exclusive Game Lodge in the Welgevonden Big 5 Game Reserve as we expand from 10 beds to 20 beds. The successful candidates will support this project over the next few years while continuing the ordinary business operations of the Lodge.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily activities, including Guiding, Food and Beverage, Hosting, Admin, Housekeeping, and Maintenance
- Support lodge operations and ensure smooth day-to-day management
- Collaborate with staff to achieve lodge goals and objectives
Requirements
- Individual experience: 5 years working in a Luxury 5 Star Game Lodge interacting with international guests
- Age: Between 25 and 35 years old
- Passion for the hospitality industry and nature guiding is essential
- He: Qualified as a Nature Guide with current Trails Guide Qualifications; experience in maintenance and construction, and building and project management is advantageous
- She: Experience in general lodge administration; help with Food, Beverage, Hosting, and Housekeeping required
Qualifications
He: Nature Guide qualification; Trails Guide Qualification
She: General lodge administration experience; chef qualification (ideal)
Salary & Benefits
Monthly gross remuneration of approximately R15,000 per person, negotiable depending on qualifications and experience. Food allowance of R1 500 per person per month provided over and above the salary. Uniforms are provided by the company. Laundry and room cleaning will be done by lodge staff. Gratuities will be received mostly directly to guides or shared in the tips pool for the day.
Work Cycle
6 weeks on duty, 2 weeks off; annual leave incorporated into this cycle
Accommodation
A furnished manager’s house with a loft, lounge, and bedroom with an ensuite bathroom is provided. The open-plan kitchenette has a fridge, 4 plate stoves, and an oven. Wi-Fi and DSTV streaming are included.
