About the Role
We are a well-established engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman to join our technical team in Welkom. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong drawing expertise and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create new machine component and assembly drawings
- Maintain and update existing component, assembly, and G.A. drawings
- Control drawing numbers, revisions, and related documentation
- Prepare and print the latest drawing revisions for engineering job cards
- Maintain engineering job cards and modification requirements
- Chair weekly engineering meetings
- Maintain drawing revisions and stock codes within ERP systems
- Configure and maintain pump stock codes and pump configurator data
- Liaise closely with machinists, foremen, and workshop personnel
- Assist with estimating, quoting, and booking in repair work
- Configure pump drives, couplings, pulleys, and taper locks
- Maintain reject and scrap registers
- Conduct wet testing of pumps and support test bay activities
- Assist with server backup processes
Requirements
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Technical Drawing (essential)
- Minimum 3 years experience in Mechanical Draughting
- Drawing Software Experience: Solid Works, Solid Edge & AutoCAD
- Proven drawing experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- MDDOP experience
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure
Qualifications
- Tertiary technical qualification (advantageous)
Salary & Benefits
R23 700 | Benefits will only kick in after the probation period (Pension, Medical – optional & 13th Cheque)
