About the Role
The Lead Project Engineer role at Communicate Finance requires a seasoned professional to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs, manage deliverables, and ensure technical alignment across design packages. The successful candidate will provide technical oversight during construction and commissioning while ensuring safety-in-design and compliance with SANS and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary engineering inputs to ensure technical alignment across all design packages
- Review, track, and manage engineering deliverables to meet project schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory requirements
- Support scope definition, change control, vendor interface management, and integration of vendor documentation into project designs
- Assist in developing engineering standards, execution plans, schedules, and work breakdown structures
- Provide technical oversight during construction and commissioning while ensuring safety-in-design and compliance with SANS and international standards
Requirements
- 10 – 20 years’ post-graduate experience in a senior project engineering role within heavy industrial projects
- Proven exposure to mining or mineral processing environments
- Registered ECSA Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist
- Strong technical aptitude with analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver high-quality outputs within budget and schedule constraints
Qualifications
Minimum BEng / BSc in Mechanical / Civil / Electrical Engineering
