JOB TITLE: Tally Clerk

Key Responsibilities
Inventory tracking:

• Record the count and condition of incoming products, packaging, and shipments;
• Verify the accuracy of shipping orders and received goods against the corresponding paperwork; and
• Report discrepancies or issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or management.

Data Entry and Record Keeping:

• Input data into inventory management systems accurately and efficiently;
• Maintain organised records of inventory transactions, including receipts, inspections, and shipments; and
• Generate and maintain reports related to inventory levels, shortages, and damages.

 
Collaboration:

• Work closely with warehouse staff, including forklift operators and shipping/receiving personnel, to coordinate the movement of goods; and
• Assist in conducting inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.

Quality Control:

• Inspect goods upon arrival for damage or discrepancies and take appropriate action as necessary; and
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding inventory handling.

Communication:

• Effectively communicate with other team members about inventory status, potential issues, and operational needs; and
• Provide support during the packing and shipping process, ensuring that orders are filled correctly and on time.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and reporting; and
• Participate in training sessions and continuous education to enhance skills and knowledge related to warehouse operations.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum Matric
• Previous work experience
• Previous experience in a similar industry with one to three years of experience
