About the Role
The UC Engineer will be responsible for designing, documenting, planning, developing, maintaining planning, and implementing guidance of Networking and Communications solutions, services, and architectures in a secure and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with Pre-Sales to establish world-class networking products, solutions, and services
- Demonstrate strong network design and VoIP engineering capabilities
- Assess and advise on technical alternatives, balancing technical limitations with operational realities
- Guide advanced high-level problem management processes (ITIL aligned)
- Establish monitoring, event generation, ticket logging, and incident reporting mechanisms
- Develop processes and procedures for Voice services in collaboration with Network Specialists
- Analyse draft solution proposals for technical viability and fit-for-purpose delivery
- Identify suitable solutions where requirements fall outside personal expertise
- Ensure technology alignment with client needs and educate clients on implemented solutions
- Provide support to other customers/sites when required (occasional travel may be necessary)
Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) – Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma (NQF 6) in an ICT-related field – Advantageous
- Technical field support experience in a large corporate environment – Advantageous
- PABX – Mandatory
- NEC IS3000 experience – Mandatory
- NEC 3C experience – Mandatory
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (NQF 4)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma (NQF 6) in an ICT-related field
- Technical field support experience in a large corporate environment
