About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our operations in Western Cape, ensuring efficient and effective management of end-to-end warehouse activities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale warehouse operations, with a strong background in food manufacturing, FMCG, or high-volume distribution environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and returns
- Lead, manage, and develop warehouse teams, team leaders, drivers, and support staff
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and cost control across all warehouse activities
- Ensure accurate stock control, FIFO principles, and regular stock counts and stock takes
- Oversee dispatch, route planning, loading, and delivery coordination
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and company policies
- Monitor performance metrics including order accuracy, turnaround times, backorders, and losses
- Investigate stock variances, damages, and operational issues, implementing corrective actions
- Manage vehicle operations including maintenance, licensing, cleanliness, and driver compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement operational changes where required
- Ensure accurate reporting, record-keeping, and communication with management and internal departments
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Warehouse Operations Manager or similar senior warehouse leadership role
- Strong background in food manufacturing, FMCG, or high-volume distribution environments
- Solid understanding of stock control, dispatch, route planning, and warehouse systems
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
Qualifications
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale warehouse operations
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field (required)
