IT Software Developer required for a reputable company based in East London
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in IT and/or Software Development
- 3-5 years software development experience
- Broad experience and knowledge of accounting systems and ERP Systems
- Experience working in project and BAU environments
- Property Industry experience beneficial
- Advanced Excel and computer software skills
SKILLS
- Up to date knowledge of current trends and practices relating to IT Applications
- Strong analytical and numerical skills demonstrating an ability to identify and react to emerging issues
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to manage conflict and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent standard of literacy and effective written communication skills
- Scripting or programming experience an advantage
- Ability to deal with a demanding workload which will include conflicting demands on time
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend language:
- C#/.NET, Java, Node.js (JavaScript/TypeScript), C++ or Python.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will include but not limited to:
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather and document system requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
- Conduct system upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Assist in the implementation and rollout of new applications and systems, including testing, training, and support.
- Support data integrity, data migration, and integration between systems using APIs, ETL tools, or scripting.
- Ensure applications meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated helpdesk issues related to enterprise systems and applications.
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and integrations.
- Build responsive, maintainable frontend components where required.
- Write clean, testable, and welldocumented code following coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Ensure security, scalability, and performance in all solutions.
- Day-to-day systems support and issue resolution
- Review the current systems/interfaces, forms and procedures and propose solutions to streamline and reduce manual intervention
- Collaborate with Managers to design and develop both internal and external management reports to better inform the business
- Liaise with external stakeholders and system developers where necessary
