Job Description

Hire Resolve is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a reputable construction firm based in Westville (Durban). In this role, you will manage all aspects of quantity surveying for a diverse range of projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget. You will collaborate with clients, contractors, and project managers to guarantee the successful execution of projects. Additionally, you will lead a team of junior surveyors and provide mentorship to enhance their skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress against budget
  • Manage procurement processes, including tendering and subcontractor appointments
  • Perform risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Mentor and manage junior quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure project alignment
  • Conduct value engineering assessments

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the construction sector
  • Strong knowledge of building contracts, construction processes, and project management
  • Excellent analytical and financial management skills
  • Proficient in relevant quantity surveying software and IT skills (e.g., CCS, Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
