About the Role
Our client based in Worcester, Western Cape is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical accuracy, excellent Excel skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within an agricultural production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurate costing for farming and packing operations
- Perform detailed cost analysis and reporting
- Monitor and analyse inventory variances, production inefficiencies, and wastage
- Maintain and report on product costing and inventory
- Oversee inventory management processes
- Collaborate with production and finance teams to implement cost control measures
- Support the budgeting and financial planning processes
- Prepare daily and weekly productivity reports
- Assist with the roll-out and implementation of new systems
- Provide general financial support to the Financial Manager
Requirements
- 23 years experience in cost accounting or a similar role
- Experience in an agricultural production environment (advantageous)
- BCom Degree or relevant Finance Qualification
- Completed SAICA / SAIPA articles (advantageous)
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Driver’s License and own reliable transport
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP Systems and Bill of Material (BOM)
