Job Summary
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate and maintain forklift and mini excavators.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of assigned equipment, including routine checks, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures when operating equipment.
- Installation Support:
- Assist with the installation of solar panels, racking systems, and other infrastructure components.
- Work with other team members to ensure accurate and efficient installation processes.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in safety training and meetings as instructed.
- Ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of equipment operation, maintenance, and repairs.
- Report any issues or incidents to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Competency Certificate:
- Possess and maintain a valid competency certificate for the operation of forklifts and or mini excavators used in the solar farm.
Qualifications:
- Matric not essential but will be an advantage.
- Prior exposure to solar farm environment will be an advantage.
- Proven experience (2 – 3 years) operating equipment in a solar farm environment.
- Valid competency certificate for the operation of heavy equipment used in solar farm operations.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform the required duties, including lifting and carrying equipment.
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating equipment.
- Knowledge of solar farm operations and maintenance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
