Job Summary
Mafriq is an international trading company based in Mauritius, sourcing top-tier products from over 20 countries and providing reliable supply solutions to customers across Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. The company is seeking an experienced Trade Coordinator to join their team.
Purpose of the role
The Trade Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating international trade activities, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, optimizing logistics, and fostering relationships with suppliers, customers, and trade partners worldwide. This role requires a strong understanding of international supply chain management, trade compliance laws, and effective communication skills to ensure seamless operations in an international business environment
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to,
- Order fulfillment: Serve as the primary point of contact for receiving and processing order requests from Trade managers and the Supply Chain Manager
- Shipping documentation: Manage all shipping documentation ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies
- Logistics Coordination: Track and monitor shipments throughout the process, and resolve any shipping issues, including delays, damages, or discrepancies
- Supplier and Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for trade inquiries from customers, suppliers, and transportation partners.
- Teamwork: Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal teams, such as sales, procurement, and finance, to ensure alignment and resolve any discrepancies
- Regulatory compliance: Stay updated on international trade regulations, customs requirements, and trade policies in the markets we operate, ensuring full compliance to mitigate risks
- Data management and reporting: Maintain accurate records of shipments, transactions, and trade activities
- Management Support: Act as a reliable resource for management by executing various ad-hoc tasks
Requirements for the role:
- Fluency in French is essential.
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong numeracy and mathematical skills.
- Experience with exchange rates and foreign currencies.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade and logistics operations.
- Strong working knowledge of trade regulations and documentation requirements.
- Experience working with shipping carriers, customs brokers and other related authorities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong computer and technical skills.
- Experience with logistics software and systems.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
REMUNERATION:
- Salary will be market related and dependent on experience.
