Duties:
- Design and implement efficient data models, databases, and structures to ensure optimal storage, retrieval, and security of organisational data.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and integrate data from various sources into BI systems.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualisations that empower business stakeholders to make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into technical specifications and ensure BI solutions align with organisational goals.
- Document processes, data models, and configurations to enable reproducibility and seamless knowledge transfer.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging BI tools and technologies to enhance analytics capabilities.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Honour’s degree in related field will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in ETL, BI development, or data analysis. (5 years preferred).
- Proven track record in large-scale data environments, including data modelling and report/dashboard creation.
- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to design and implement tailored BI solutions.
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and database management systems.
- Expertise in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or Looker.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including ETL processes and tools like SSIS.
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, R, or JavaScript for advanced data manipulation.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
