Employer Description A multimedia production company, specialising in the production of visual based procedure training, safety material & consulting Job Description Technical Leadership & Execution Lead the design, development, and deployment of VR/XR applications, ensuring high-performance, scalable, and maintainable code. Provide technical architecture oversight, including code reviews, design patterns, and optimisation. Develop prototypes and explore emerging XR technologies to enhance the companys portfolio. Collaborate with UX/UI designers, 3D artists, and QA teams to deliver immersive and interactive experiences. Team Leadership & Mentorship Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of developers, 3D artists, and testers. Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence. Conduct regular performance reviews and guide career development of team members. Project & Process Management Plan and manage multiple VR/XR projects simultaneously, ensuring milestones are met on time. Implement best practices in agile/Scrum methodologies, version control, and pipelines. Monitor workflows to maximise productivity, minimise technical debt, and maintain quality. Budget & Resource Management Assist with project costing and operational budgeting. Ensure resource allocation and procurement of hardware/software meet project requirements. Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality. Stakeholder & Client Engagement Act as the technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Ensure client satisfaction through timely delivery, quality, and technical excellence. Vendor & Technology Management Evaluate, select, and manage VR/AR software and hardware vendors. Negotiate contracts, monitor vendor performance, and maintain quality standards. Compliance & Risk Ensure all projects comply with relevant legal, safety, and privacy standards. Identify operational risks and propose mitigation strategies. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Game Development, VR/AR, or a related field (Managerial or Project Management courses beneficial). Skills Advanced proficiency in Unity and/or Unreal Engine, including VR/XR optimization. Strong programming skills in C# and/or C++, with experience in 3D rendering, physics, and VR interaction models. Familiarity with shader programming, AR SDKs (ARKit/ARCore), multiplayer/networked VR, and VR hardware (Meta Quest, HTC Vive, Oculus, etc.). Proficiency in 3D modeling software: Blender, 3D Max, Maya, or similar. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, version control (Git), CI/CD, unit testing, and documentation 7 years of experience in VR/XR development or game/interactive media development. 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience delivering complex VR/XR projects from concept to deployment. Proven ability to interact with clients at a high level and provide technical guidance. Certifications (optional but desirable): Unity Certified Developer, Unreal Engine Certification, Agile/Scrum, PMP.
