Job Description
A large four-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support the F&B leadership team. The ideal candidate will have extensive operational knowledge and a proven ability to manage teams, drive standards, and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the F&B Manager in the overall management of outlets, banqueting, and bar operations

Supervise daily operations and ensure service excellence is consistently achieved
-
Manage staff recruitment, training, and performance reviews
-
Conduct regular team briefings and ensure clear communication across departments
-
Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier negotiations to ensure cost effectiveness
-
Assist with financial planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting
-
Support the development and implementation of menus, wine lists, and seasonal promotions
-
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times
-
Handle guest queries, complaints, and feedback with professionalism and efficiency
-
Lead by example in maintaining high levels of personal presentation and service standards
-
Monitor staff morale and motivate the team to exceed expectations
-
Coordinate with the kitchen and events team to deliver high-quality functions and conferences
-
Provide reports and updates to senior management as required
Requirements:
-
Minimum 35 years experience in a F&B management role within a 4*/5* hotel
-
Strong leadership, delegation, and people management skills
-
Excellent knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards
-
Sound financial management skills including budgeting and cost control
-
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
-
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
