Johannesburg North: Actuary (Short-Term Pricing) posted by Network Finance

Key Responsibilities:

• Support reserving processes for quarterly and annual regulatory and IFRS17 financial reporting purposes.
• Assist in validating key reserving inputs for Group reporting and financial planning.
• Prepare and review reserve analyses and reports for various stakeholders.
• Engage with auditors and internal teams on IFRS17 and SAM audit-related matters.
• Contribute to ongoing data quality management and reserving methodology improvements.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• Degree in Actuarial Science.
• Minimum completion of ASSA A1 & A2 Technical exams (or IFoA equivalent).
• 2–3 years of experience in non-life insurance, ideally within a reserving environment.
• Solid understanding of SAM valuation principles and short-term insurance reserving methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office (advanced), SQL, and Power BI; experience with ResQ advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
