Cape Town City Centre: Maintenance Planner

MAINTENANCE PLANNER (ENGINEERING) – SA STEELWORKS AIRPORT INDUSTRIA – CAPE TOWN The SA Steelworks Engineering department currently has a vacancy for a detail orientated, process-driven, organized individual to join their team. This position requires someone who is able to work in a fast paced, demanding and pressurized environment. The successful candidate must at all times, conduct him/herself in such a manner that reflects the professional and ethical values of the Group. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Facilitate and participate in downtime capturing and analysis of machinery and equipment CCMS management (C-works) – New Asset entry, loading PM task lists, Scheduling and releasing PM cards, Addressing Work Order delays, etc. Provide training to new staff members on C-works and its operation Generating WO Aging and Productivity Reports Assist Team Leaders in ensuring utilization and productivity targets are met Process mapping of Critical Engineering Activities Writing and revising SOP’s Assist with Stoppage day and Shutdown Planning Stoppage day and Shutdown task management across different departments – Critical path management Provide feedback and implement corrective action on task completion / startup gaps Assist Team Leaders with Non-stock spares management Facilitate non-stock inventory conversion to stock spares Optimize time utilization on repeat maintenance activities Manage and develop Asset information files for both Rolling Mill and Meltshop Update KPI Boards in Engineering office Identify and address Safety and System related deviations in Engineering Abide by the regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Participate in RCA sessions and assist with implementation of corrective actions Qualifying Criteria Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent Suitable qualification/certification in a trade and/or business administration Valid driver’s license Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in a similar role Must be fully Computer literate (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook) Must have Strong proven administrative skills Experience working with an Electronic Maintenance system Knowledgeable on the Occupational Health & Safety Act Sound communication skills (understand, read and write English) Must be prepared to work overtime when required Qualifying Attributes: Strong command of the English language: an eye for detail, meticulous grammar and comprehension, and exceptional written communication Basic understanding of additional languages advantageous Meticulous, accurate and attentive to detail Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills The ability to self-manage with minimal guidance Able to meet deadlines for multiple tasks at a time Ability to work under pressure Ability to organize and plan carefully Hard-working and self-motivated Ability to work independently as well as in a team Time management and organizational skills Excellent standards in execution Type: Permanent Reporting to: Engineering Manager /Engineering Divisional Directors Job type: Permanent position Benefits include · Provident fund · Life cover · Funeral cover · Medical aid – hospital plan · 15 x paid leave days per annum · Long service leave after five years of employment Standard hours 07:30 – 17:00 Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00 Fridays May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Please note that the successful candidate will receive a formal, written offer of employment after all applicable pre-employment checks have been completed.
