Durban: Production Manager – Steel

Qualifications & Experience: Matric / Grade 12 required; technical/engineering qualification preferred Minimum 10 years in production management; industrial relations experience essential Proficient in MS Office and email Strong people management skills Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage production schedules to ensure cost-effective operations Evaluate and improve production processes for efficiency, quality, and speed Allocate human and material resources according to budget; place orders as needed Maintain high overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and mechanical/quality yield Monitor daily production, product standards, and implement quality-control programs Work with managers to implement company policies and goals Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines Collaborate with maintenance to identify and resolve machine defects Supervise, motivate, and review staff performance Maintain customer lead times and stock levels for consumables and spares
