A luxury boutique hospitality group is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team. This role involves managing the day-to-day financial accounting functions across multiple properties. The position requires a self-motivated professional who can work independently, take initiative, and ensure accuracy in all financial reporting. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations for multiple properties within the group Process and reconcile creditors and debtors accounts, ensuring timely payments and collections Prepare and submit VAT reconciliations and returns in compliance with statutory requirements Handle monthly payroll processing, statutory deductions, and related reconciliations Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger with accuracy Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for senior management review Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain cash flow management systems Monitor budgets, forecast expenditures, and assist with cost control initiatives Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions as required Ensure compliance with all financial policies, procedures, and regulations Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems for multiple properties Travel to Cape Town CBD once a week to attend group finance meetings or assist with head office requirements Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting when required Implement systems Requirements: Previous accounting experience (minimum of 3–5 years) in a hospitality or multi-property environment preferred Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail Proficiency in accounting software (experience on Xero system essential) and MS Office Suite Knowledge of VAT, debtors, creditors, and payroll functions Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities Excellent communication skills and ability to present financial information clearly Must ideally reside in the Northern Suburbs for ease of travel Valid drivers licence and reliable car (flexibility to travel to Cape Town CBD once a week) To apply, please upload a copy of your updated CV and recent profile photo along with any written or telephonic reference.
