Our client is looking for an energetic and reliable Fry Cook to join their kitchen team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing high-quality food, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and ensuring every customer enjoys a great dining experience.

Minimum requirements

• Matric (or equivalent) preferred
• Proven experience as a Fry Cook, Kitchen Assistant, or in a similar fast-food or takeaway environments
• Knowledge of food preparation, frying techniques, and kitchen safety standards
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
• Commitment to food quality and hygiene
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Skills required

• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy kitchen environment
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices

Duties and responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook food items primarily fried dishes such as fish, chips, and other menu items
• Operate and maintain deep fryers and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Monitor cooking times and food quality to ensure consistency and proper presentation
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, fryers, and food preparation areas
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
• Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries and reporting shortages or spoilage
• Dispose of waste properly and ensure oil and fryer maintenance schedules are followed
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
• Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy periods

Remuneration

R 5 000 basic
