Lodge-Based Role: Senior Duty Manager Vacancy – Eastern Cape Location : Private Big 5 concession near Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape Salary : R16,000 – R20,000 DOE Type of Property : Exclusive 5★ luxury safari camp (live-in, with private 1-bedroom house: kitchen, ensuite, lounge) Start Date : URGENT placement Position Overview We are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Duty Manager (Camp Manager level) to join a close-knit team at an award-winning 5★ luxury camp in Addo. This dynamic role calls for a highly motivated, guest-centric leader with strong F&B and operational experience. The successful candidate will not only oversee daily lodge operations and guest experience but will also take responsibility for a newly opening trails camp – offering significant career growth into senior lodge management. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily camp operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences. Host guests with warmth, professionalism, and presence, embodying luxury hospitality standards. Support Food & Beverage operations, including service oversight and special event coordination. Supervise and mentor staff, fostering a motivated and cohesive team culture. Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, and guiding teams for efficient camp management. Act as senior management on-site in the absence of the Lodge Manager. Manage opening and operational setup of the new trails camp. Candidate Profile Essential Requirements Minimum 3–5 years’ management experience in luxury safari lodges or camps. Strong guest relations skills with proven experience in F&B or service operations. Ability to handle high-pressure guest situations with maturity and calm. Strong leadership skills, with ability to train, mentor, and guide staff. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Genuine passion for living and working in the bush environment. A dynamic, intuitive leader who thrives in small, close-knit team environments.
