Link The role of Stores Person is to make sure that the stores inventory is updated, and that the maintenance manager knows which spares are low on stock. The Stores Person is also responsible for the general housekeeping in and around the workshop. Founding Concepts The Stores Person monitors and controsl the flow of goods into and out of warehouses and other storage facilities. They check goods on arrival and before dispatch, ensuring they have the right products, in the correct quantity and that there is no damage. The Stores Person uses a forklift to assist in loading and unloading trucks and moving goods around the warehouse for storage license dependent. Record when goods arrived and their exact location in the warehouse. Meet with management and production staff to discuss maintenance/engineering specifications. Request Quotes from Suppliers and ensure we get the best price. Assist Maintenance when necessary with tasks appropriate to skill and experience. Control the sign-out and sign-in of all tools requested from the Store. Check all incoming tools for defects, negligence and abuse upon return. Report any missing, defective, negligence or abuse of tools. Perform periodic toolbox inspections of all toolboxes (Maintenance and Production Staff)
