? The Role
As the Head of Reinsurance Accounting, you’ll take full command of the reinsurance finance function — from process integrity to strategic delivery. You’ll be the cornerstone of financial accuracy, ensuring that every transaction, every report, and every compliance measure supports a business built on trust and transparency.

? What You’ll Do
– Lead and oversee all reinsurance accounting operations for the non-life portfolio.
– Build and refine financial processes to ensure seamless, compliant reporting.
– Drive IFRS 17 implementation, ensuring consistency and readiness across all systems.
– Manage audits, reconciliations, and stakeholder reviews with accuracy and foresight.
– Oversee reinsurance recoveries, settlements, and premium adjustments.
– Partner with actuarial, risk, and finance leaders to ensure data integrity and insight-driven results.
– Inspire, mentor, and develop a capable team — promoting accountability and professional excellence.

? Who You Are
– A qualified professional with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related (CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, or ACCA beneficial).
– 7–10 years of financial management or accounting experience within insurance or reinsurance.
– Experienced in IFRS 17 application, reinsurance reporting, and system integration.
– Known for your problem-solving mindset and commitment to precision.

? Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the reinsurance accounting function across the non-life licence.
• Oversee reinsurance systems, policies, and process improvements to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
• Drive IFRS 17 compliance and reporting excellence through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Manage internal, external, and reinsurer audits with precision and accountability.
• Oversee debtor and creditor management to maintain financial integrity.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders to support sound financial decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a talented accounting team — fostering continuous learning, accountability, and professional growth.

?What You Bring

• Degree in Accounting or Financial Management (CA / CFA / ACCA / CIMA advantageous)
• 7–10 years’ experience in accounting or investment management, including 3–5 years in a leadership role
• Proven experience within the insurance or reinsurance environment
• Strong systems knowledge and a focus on process optimisation
• A leadership style that balances technical precision with the ability to inspire and influence
