FIELD GUIDE | LUXURY SAFARI LODGE | PHALABORWA REGION Salary: Negotiable DOE | Live-In Position Kendrick Recruitment is on the lookout for a passionate and experienced Field Guide to join an exclusive luxury safari lodge set in the breathtaking wilderness of the Phalaborwa region. This is an exceptional opportunity for a natural storyteller — someone who doesn’t just guide game drives, but brings the bush to life through knowledge, enthusiasm and unforgettable guest experiences. This role is ideal for a guide who thrives on guest interaction, conservation-driven guiding and working within a close-knit lodge team. Key Responsibilities * Conduct guided game drives, walking safaris and other nature-based activities * Deliver engaging, educational storytelling that elevates the safari experience * Share in-depth knowledge of local flora, fauna and ecological systems * Ensure all guiding activities are carried out safely and in accordance with reserve protocols * Build warm, professional relationships with guests and create lasting memories * Monitor, record and report wildlife sightings and lodge activities * Work closely with other lodge departments to ensure seamless guest service * Maintain guiding vehicles, equipment and personal presentation to luxury standards Requirements * FGASA Level 1 (minimum) with valid DEAT and First Aid certificates * Valid PDP and driver’s licence * ARH rifle handling and competency certification * Minimum of 2 years’ guiding experience, preferably in a Big 5 reserve * A genuine passion for wildlife, conservation and responsible tourism * Excellent communication and storytelling skills * Well-presented, personable and guest-focused * Ability to work in a remote environment as part of a committed team Why This Role?
