Cape Town City Centre: Financial Manager/Group Accountant

A dynamic and rapidly growing property investment group is seeking an experienced Financial Manager / Group Accountant to take ownership of the full financial function across multiple entities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to a technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, commercial environment. Key Responsibilities Oversee and mentor an accountant, providing technical accounting guidance and ensuring high-quality outputs. Review monthly management accounts for all entities within the group. Review VAT reconciliations and manage the submission of VAT201s via SARS e-Filing for approximately 11 entities. Prepare taxable income calculations , including deferred tax reconciliations . Oversee and submit provisional tax and income tax returns for all group entities. Ensure accurate cash flow management , balance sheet integrity, and financial compliance. Lead the preparation of annual audit packs and liaise with external auditors. Support the development of budgets, forecasts , and the consolidation of group financial results. Identify process improvements and implement strong financial controls. Qualifications & Experience CA(SA) Essential 25 years post-articles experience in a financial management or group accounting role. Strong technical proficiency in IFRS, tax, consolidations, and financial reporting. Experience managing multiple entities and high-volume financial processes. Exposure to the property or investment sector is advantageous but not essential. Advanced Excel skills and strong systems orientation. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders. Proactive, organised, and able to meet tight deadlines.
