Job Description
Candidate Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of the lodge and support staff management
- Conduct game drives during the primary guide’s off days (FGASA or equivalent qualification required)
- Handle daily administrative duties, including orders, invoices, and general paperwork
- Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, and room inspections
- Use and manage reservations via Semper
- Host and engage with guests to ensure a warm and memorable lodge experience
- Assist with training and mentoring the lodge guide where possible
- Take full operational responsibility for the lodge in the Lodge Manager’s absence
Core Criteria:
- FGASA qualification or equivalent guiding certification
- Previous guiding experience essential
- Lodge operations or assistant management experience advantageous
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Confident, fair, and professional approach to staff management
- Ability to connect easily with guests while maintaining professional boundaries
Package:
- Salary: R10,000 – R15,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience
- Accommodation: Single en-suite room
- Shared kitchen facilities with lodge staff
- Work cycle: 3 weeks on / 1 week off
