Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pattern Development: Create accurate flat patterns from 3D models using geometric methods
- Fabrication: Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using various tools
- Assembly: Join components through welding, soldering, or riveting
- Design & Modeling: Utilize CAD software to design components and generate models
- Quality Control: Inspect finished components for compliance and accuracy
Key Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong technical understanding of metals, welding processes, and blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM programs like SolidWorks and Fusion 360
- Ability to meet physical requirements of workshop environments
Requirements:
- Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Grade 12
- 5-10 years’ experience in sheet metal development
- Proficiency in CAD and sheet metal design software
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and technical drawings
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
