South Africa: Spray Painter

We are seeking a motivated Spray Painter to join the hotel’s engineering and maintenance team. The successful candidate will ensure all furniture, fixtures, and surfaces throughout the property are maintained to the highest luxury standards, delivering flawless finishes that reflect the hotel’s commitment to excellence. Critical Criteria (Requirements) Proven experience as a Spray Painter in a commercial, industrial, or hospitality environment Knowledge of paints, coatings, and finishing techniques Understanding of safety procedures and proper use of protective equipment (PPE) Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in a Spray Painter or similar role, preferably in a hotel, industrial, or commercial setting Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes Ability to work independently and efficiently under deadlines Good organisational and time-management skills Team player with strong communication skills Must hold a valid South African ID Key Competencies 🔹 Technical Expertise – Skilled in spray painting, surface preparation, and high-quality finishing 🔹 Quality & Standards Focus – Ensures all work meets luxury hotel standards for appearance and durability 🔹 Health & Safety Compliance – Adheres strictly to occupational health, safety, and chemical handling regulations 🔹 Time Management & Efficiency – Delivers work accurately and efficiently under deadlines 🔹 Team Collaboration – Works effectively with the maintenance and engineering team Duties & Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming Apply spray paint and coatings using spray guns or other tools to achieve smooth, uniform finishes Inspect work for defects and perform touch-ups as necessary Clean, maintain, and safely store painting equipment and tools Report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the Maintenance Manager Adhere to occupational health and safety guidelines, including PPE usage and ventilation standards Follow environmental and chemical handling regulations Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance team on refurbishment and repair projects Assist with other maintenance-related tasks as required to support smooth hotel operations Live and promote the hotel’s values of Teamwork, Respect, Innovation, Accountability, Passion, and Integrity Package on Offer Basic salary (TBA) 50/50 contribution to Pension Company contribution to medical aid Important Application Notes Must hold a valid South African ID Only candidates with relevant Spray Painter experience will be shortlisted Ensure your CV is 100% updated All applicants will attend a virtual introduction interview Recruitment aligns with the company’s Employment Equity Plan About the President Hotel The President Hotel is on a journey to be considered a true luxury destination.
