Johannesburg: Electrical Engineer Power Systems

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in LV/MV power systems and power quality. The successful candidate will perform system analysis, monitoring, and optimisation to ensure stable, reliable, and efficient electrical networks. This role involves working on generation, distribution, and industrial power systems while addressing harmonics, voltage fluctuations, and other power quality challenges. Key Responsibilities Conduct power quality studies and measurements on LV and MV networks Analyse and troubleshoot voltage sags, harmonics, flicker, and other disturbances Design and implement solutions to improve power system performance Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams on projects Prepare technical reports, specifications, and documentation Support commissioning, testing, and maintenance activities Requirements Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience with LV and MV power systems, power quality analysis, and instrumentation Proficiency in power system analysis software (ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM, or similar) Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, or local power quality standards Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills 5-10 years experience
