About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our luxury safari lodge in Timbavati, Mpumalanga. As a key member of our culinary team, you’ll have the opportunity to craft unforgettable dining experiences for our guests amidst the breathtaking beauty of the African bush.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals for up to 100 guests daily
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety
- Manage kitchen operations during peak periods
- Collaborate with our events team to create customized menus for special occasions
- Perform other duties as required by management
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a luxury lodge or fine dining establishment
- Strong knowledge of traditional South African cuisine and international flavors
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Qualifications
- Matric certificate (or equivalent)
- Food safety certification (e.g., HACCP, Food Safety Level 1)
Salary & Benefits
- R8,000 – R9,000 per month (dependent on experience)
- Meals provided while on duty
- Live-in accommodation for selected candidates
