Key Responsibilities
- New business quotations and policy alterations
- Policy development and issuing
- Review insurance applications for necessary information and accuracy
- Premium calculation
- Explain policy terms and conditions to clients and provide guidance on risk management
- Provide notifications of accounts in arrears to clients and follow up on payments
- Policy retentions
- Processing cancelation instructions from clients and insurers where retention is not possible
- Annual renewals and policy reviews
- Document management and record keeping
- Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of insurance processes
- Engage in continuous learning and development
- Adherence to company standard operating procedures and service level agreements
Experience and Qualification
- Minimum 7 years of commercial underwriting experience in a binder broker environment
- Candidate is required to have their RE5 certificate, relevant NQF qualification and CPD points
- Must have experience in Marine & Engineering Insurance
- Previous experience with Cardinal C360 is a requirement
- Must be proficient in Word and Excel
- Candidate must have their own transport
