About the Role
Cedar Wood Recruitment is now recruiting for our client, based in the scenic Garden Route, for a Head Chef. Our client is seeking an experienced culinary professional to lead their kitchen team and create memorable dining experiences for guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen operations and staff
- Design and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements
- Lead and mentor the cooking team to achieve high-quality dishes
- Implement food safety, HACCP, cost control, and inventory management procedures
- Monitor and control kitchen expenses to ensure profitability
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Requirements
- 5 years of experience as a Head Chef in a luxury lodge or fine-dining environment
- Advanced culinary knowledge including international cuisine, fine dining, and dietary requirements
- Proven experience in menu design, kitchen operations, and team leadership
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving ability
Qualifications
- Formal Chef qualification (e.g., Matric, diploma, or degree)
Salary & Benefits
R 30 000 – R 35 000 DOE, live-in accommodation, meals on duty, formal chef uniform, and access to a Provident fund.
