About the Role
As Communicate Finance, we are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Gauteng. As the Accountant, you will be responsible for managing cashbooks, petty cash, and financial forecasting, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of all accounts. Key Responsibilities
- Capture and reconcile all cashbooks accurately and timeously.
- Maintain and update cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with ledger postings.
- Follow up on payment queries and prepare approved payments for bank release.
- Submit new beneficiary details to Treasury for verification and system loading.
- Ensure all petty cash is properly controlled, with cash certificates submitted and spend monitored against policy.
- Execute month-end checklists and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Support the month-end close process as required, including trial balance management and allocation accuracy prior to reporting.
- Complete accounts payable reconciliations and ensure payment dates are accurately reflected in cash flow forecasts.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Assist with budget preparation at both company and departmental level and capture approved budgets in the ERP system (Sage Evolution).
- Support financial year-end close and related preparation activities.
Requirements
- No less than 5 years of experience in a similar role managing cashbook and petty cash.
- Advanced Excel skills (Non-negotiable).
- Excellent reconciliation skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Experience working on Sage Evolution.
Qualifications
Completed qualification in Finance or Accounting
