About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, hands-on GENERAL MANAGER to lead the team of a vibrant, hospitality-driven restaurant that blends artisanal cuisine, a curated wine program, and a strong commitment to arts and community upliftment. This venue is known for its intimate atmosphere, creative partnerships, and dedication to exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations ensuring smooth service
- Maintain high standards of food, beverage, cleanliness, and ambience
- Manage opening/closing procedures and stock control
- Coordinate catering and bulk orders
- Lead and motivate a team of ~14 staff
- Collaborate with Assistant Manager on shift management
- Recruit, train, and develop staff
- Build a disciplined yet joyful team culture
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and profitability targets
- Monitor sales, labour costs, and margins
- Handle cash-ups, reconciliations, and financial administration
Requirements
- Hands-on management experience
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage a small team effectively
- Strong understanding of hospitality operations
- Proficiency in wine knowledge and cellar sales (desirable)

Salary & Benefits
Monthly Salary: R14,000 – R20,000 (based on experience, wine knowledge, and management capability)
Performance Incentives: Linked to operational success, wine sales growth, and team performance
